CA Ramping Up For Fall Symposium Series
In response to growing demand in the North Dallas
(and above) area, the Complete Athlete is putting
the finishing touches on a series of Weekend Symposiums
for the Fall of 2010. These two-day sessions will
provide all the information necessary to implement
a superior off-season training regimen, and teach
baseball players (and parents and coaches) how
to prepare and perform injury-free.
"We have had so much success with these programs
that we literally field questions and inquiries
from around the U.S. asking about our next session,"
says CA-Founder Donnie Watson. "We also knew
it was time to bring our program to this area
of the metroplex, engaging some of the finest
athletes in North Texas."
Hosted at Trinity Christian Academy in Addison,,
the sessions will compress the three-day symposium
schedule by paring back some of the classroom
instruction, and working in new improvements
in the day-one field sessions.
Ultimately the goal is to develop more self-sufficient
athletes, explaining and implementing the four
"legs" of the CA table including Nutrition,
Biomechanics, Training & Conditioning and
Mental/Emotional instruction. No other training
program in the U.S. so comprehensively teaches
pitchers and position players the "what's" "why's" and "how-to's"
in the logical classroom-to-field sequence developed
by the Complete Athlete in conjunction with world-renowned
orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews.
Pitchers work on a specific cord drill during the CA Dynamic Warm-up session.
"When
you put these pieces in place, explain them logically, and then show
athletes how to make them a part of their day-to-day training and game performance,
you are teaching people how to maximize their potential. Regardless of whether
or not they continue in this sport, they will always benefit from the self-awareness
and achievement brought on by this system." adds Watson.

Here is an excerpt
from some of the video instruction found
on the NEW Complete Athlete's Dynamic
Warmup CD.
As many athletes and coaches have discovered
in CA's Symposiums and Prep-U sessions, the Dynamic
Warmup is unlike any other system for preparing
athlete's to throw and hit in practice and competition. Derived
from years on on-field experience at youth, prep
and collegiate levels, the progression of exercises
that lead up to throwing, enriches muscles, tendons
and ligaments with oxygen-rich blood and raises
body temperature to deliver a more fluid level
of performance.
"By perfecting the preparation specific
to the sport, we have cut the number of throws
needed to perform in half, which dramatically
reduces wear-and-tear and helps prevent throwing
injuries," says
Donnie Watson. "Add up the number of practices,
games and workouts in a baseball season and summer
ball, and you're saving an enormous amount of
workload on the arm and shoulder. That adds up
for players wanting to play college or pro ball."
Subscribers can watch their eNews for notice
of the entire system being available for immediate
delivery. Pre-orders will
begin processing the last week of September,
2010. Nonsubscribers may get the Complete Athlete
eNews by filling in the blanks at left.

CA Wraps Up Prep-U Sessions in N. Texas
Capping weeks of Symposiums and Clinic sessions,
the COmplete Athlete finished the summer 2009
sessions with 6 weeks of Prep-U sessions hosted
at TPA in Euless, Texas.
Athletes
were invited to pick any three of the six-week
slots to begin the intense 3-day regimen of lifting,
drills and bull-pen sessions designed to teach
and reinforce methods for increased functional
strength and sound biomechanics.
"It's important to note, that these sessions
are the foundation for becoming your own best
pitching coach," says Donnie Watson. "These
athletes learn everything they need to know to
take charge of their own development and performance.
From here-on, it's up to them."
The sessions included participation with other
athletes and one-on-one coaching with Watson
to help develop individually-tailored regimens
for pitching schedules and roles in team roster
rotations. Each session began with the CA Dynamic
Warmup to help cement it's place in the players'
routines.

Texas Stix Implement CA Dynamic Warmup
Select baseball in North Texas is very competitive.
From team selections to coaching choices to tournament
schedules it's often times all about higher visibility
for teams, players and their organizations. Certainly,
player development is a natural by-product of
all the practices, drills and game play teams
embrace, but it isn't always at the forefront
of an organization's efforts.
Not so with the Texas
Stix select-team programs. Hosted by the
Top Prospects Academy (TPA)
in Euless, Texas, the Stix are developing teams
ages 13U-18U with the intent of creating an
elite level of play rooted in player development.
In fact, Texas Stix teams have chosen the Complete
Athlete Dynamic Warmup as their method of preparation
before practices and games.
Stix 15U Players go
through the CA Dynamic Warmup prior to
a practice.
"We want to hit, execute, defend and win
on a higher level, but that's pretty much the
goal for any select team," says Stix Head
Nick Heitz. "I guess the difference here
is we now know how important the health of our
players is, and keeping them in better shape
yields bigger results. When scouts and recruiters
see our players, they'll know they're coming
from a program focused on health, attitude and
long-term ability."
Instructors Shane
Davenport and Tyler
Brown have been instrumental in teaching
the teams' Managers and Players in both the
Dynamic Warmup and workout techniques for better
conditioned play. Both recently gained CA Coaches
Certification in Gulf Breeze, Florida.
